Okay, so it's really been a long time since I've posted here. Yesterday was promotionals. Dr. Min wasn't there, so we had a workout first and then promotions. After a nice warmup and some light conditioning, we did punches across the short side of the room. We worked two different kinds of punches - reverse and jab, though there were many variations of the two punches. One was whether the rear foot was planted (heel down) or pushing off of the ball of the foot. These two variations he called "spearing the horse" and "punching a monkey," because one involved more power than the other.

Other things we talked about was arm placement for a hook or more of a straight hook. Also talked about the Bruce Lee-style "water and ice" punch, which was the direct application of the vertical hand fist. Dr. LInk also said that the extension of the arm includes more reach.
